Dataset description:

The spatial dataset refers to the National Register of Pollutant Release and Transfer, which is a tool to provide the public with access to environmental information on releases to air, water, soil, wastewater and waste water intended for treatment and waste from facilities where activities referred to Annex I to Regulation (EC) No 166/2006 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 18 January 2006, on the establishment of a European Pollutant Release and Transfer Register and amending Council Directives 91/689 / EEC and 96/61 / EC (Official Journal EU L 33 of 4.2.2006, p. 1). This regulation implements at the European Community level the UN / ECE Protocol on pollutant release and transfer registers, which was established to comply with the provisions of the Aarhus Convention on access to information, public participation in decision-making and access to justice in environmental matters. The regulation establishes an integrated pollutant release and transfer register at Community level in the form of a publicly available electronic database and sets out rules for its functioning. The National Pollutant Release and Transfer Register is part of the European Pollutant Release and Transfer Register.
