Source data comes from the SI MGiSM database, collecting data from marine species and habitats monitoring, maintained by CIEP. The data were transformed in accordance with INSPIRE model in subject of Environmental Monitoring Facilities (EF) in version of schema 4.0. Technical guidelines for EF subject are available in the specification D2.8.II / III.7 INSPIRE Data Specification on Environmental Monitoring Facilities – Technical Guidelines.

Dataset description:

The spatial dataset concerns the monitoring of marine species and habitats, which is carried out as part of the nature monitoring subsystem of the State Environmental Monitoring coordinated by the Chief Inspector of Environmental Protection. The purpose of implementation of the monitoring of Polish marine species and habitats is to meet the requirements of Polish and pan-European legislation, so that the results of monitoring of marine species and habitats are used to track the effectiveness of protective measures. Monitoring of species and habitats of Polish marine areas covers species and natural habitats associated with marine which are listed in the Regulation of the Minister of the Environment of 13 April 2010 On the Natural Habitats and Species of Community Interest, as well as Criteria for the Selection of Areas Eligible for Recognition or Designation as Natura 2000 sites. Monitoring is an obligation under Article 112 of the Act of 16 April 2004 (Journal of Laws of 2015, item 1651) on nature protection, which implements the provisions of Council Directive 92/43 / EEC on the conservation of natural habitats and of wild fauna and flora (the so-called Habitat Directive).
